God’s covenant with his people is that he would greatly bless us so that we may then be a blessing to all the peoples of the world (Genesis 12:1-3). The Lord Jesus left his disciples with the particular task of continuing his ministry on earth until his return(John 14:12). Each of us, as God’s people, are to pursue the work of ministry (Ephesians 4:12) in the name of Jesus Christ and through the empowering of the Holy Spirit. As Jesus ministered, so we are to minister in devotion (Mark 12:30-31), in word (2 Corinthians 4:5-6; 2 Timothy 4:2), in deed (Luke 10:36-37; Matthew 23:23; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4),and in mission (Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 1:8).
